A place to put your feet up

I've been rebitten by the gardening bug. It's a disease I swear! I was in remission for a while, but it's baaaack.
I have this vision in my mind's eye of a lush patio nook with potted plants and a small table and chairs where I can relax and have breakfast or an evening meal surrounded by nature. I have the green thumb. I have the patio. And I definetly have the nature!

Last Saturday my Mom and I went shopping and purchased several plants, pots and a sprinkler kit. Mom came out to the house for the first time since the house warming party (many moons ago) and brought her trencher. In surprisingly little time, we had the drip irrigation sprinkler system line laid running up to the patio.

On Sunday, I put the plants into the pots and finished the irrigation system.
With the plants in place (semi lush) I was left with the table and chairs.

Lately I've been seeing beautiful pictures in Southern Living or Martha Stewart Living of happy, healthy people in large pastures sitting down to banquests served on wooden tables with mismatched antique chairs. Part of me is horrified by these beautiful antiques being "put to pasture" and used outdoors. The other part of me is scouring Craigs List and Consignment shops for the perfect pieces to steal the look!
Last night at work I found the perfect pieces at a rock bottom price. Since the pieces weren't great condition I've convinced myself I can pull off the look I want without ruining a beautiful piece of furniture. I snatched them up and drove home with four chairs and a pull leaf table in the back of the Jeep. I'm going to refinish the top of the table and seal them as best as I can from the elements. More pictures to follow as this project completes!
